LOCATION

Ramsgate is easy to access, simply follow the signs down to the port and there is a large car park opposite along the seafront, park here and walk Eastwards towards the cliffs.

(Ramsgate cliffs) - 1994

It is possible to walk to the end of Ramsgate port and collect from the main cliff face.

EQUIPMENT

HAMMERS are forbidden on the port cliffs, but maybe used after the port defences end. Fossils should be wrapped well and placed into bags. A chisel may also come of use and should be taken.

SAFETY

Common sense when collecting at all locations should be taken and knowledge of tide times should always be noted. Much of the coastline here is inaccessible during winter months and very dangerous at all times. It is very easy to become cut off from the tide. Climbing is not recommended at the port since it could cause a danger to others.
